On the 13th day of summer...

My true love, kids, and me (I),
Went out on the motorbike to the lovely Log Barn,
Then a visit to Grandma and Grandpa's to help with their yard work,
Then to the movies to see Disney Nature's "Chimpanzee" which was GREAT (if not entirely real...Shon Thomas!)
Then a lovely dinner with friends to toast the success of one of our colleagues who is moving away,
And wrapped with another sunset motorbike ride!
Have I mentioned....I LOVE SUMMER!!!!

On the 12th day of summer...

My true love, kids and me (I)
Had basically a lazy day at home in the heat.
We tried to get some stuff done, but not much happened.
We did pick a bunch more cherries...and they're still sitting in the sink,
We did try to finish the cracks in the deck stain...but they're still white,
We did try to clean up the house...but it's still "lived in,"

I did hang out in the hammock for a bit,
We did go to the library for about an hour...it's nice and cool in there.
I'm now reading a book called "You Say Tomato...I say Shut Up!"  It's pretty good.
And, Mike and I capped off the evening by going to town to see "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel" and enjoyed talking about it as we went for our evening walk....

Tomorrow... may be more exciting...but don't hold your breath!

On the 11th day of summer...

My true love, kids, and me (I),

Got the first coat of stain done on the deck,

And said goodbye to Papa before he starts his new life journey tomorrow.

See you in the fall, Papa!  Travel safely. 

**  Also...on the 7th, 8th and 9th days of summer...

Daddy took the kids for a ride on the motorcycle to 'The Log Barn' for a tasty decadent breakfast of waffles with fruit and whipped cream with caramel sauce.  He forgot to take a pic of Shaughnessy on her day, but she loved it just like Delaney and Fraser did! **

On the tenth day of summer...

My true love, kids and me (I)
Did MORE yard and housework.  (Harrumph)
And, went to the library where I finished one play version of Treasure Island and started another.
And, I cleaned out my email - which took about 3 hours.

I am VERY much looking forward to camping with my girls next week!!

On the ninth day of summer...

My true love, kids, and me (I)
Repaired and power washed the deck,
Processed cherries and dill,
visited with family,
and enjoyed the heat!

On the eighth day of summer...

My true love, kids and me (I),
Did MORE yard work, at Grandma and Grandpa's, and at home!

On the seventh day of summer...

My true love, kids and me (I),
Finished level one of the new wall,
Played hockey,
Went swimming,
And attended the OM CD Release party!!

On the sixth day of summer...

My true love, kids, and me (I)
Visited Polson Park's water park (brrrrrrrrr)
And picked up Daddy's motorcycle where
Fraser dreamed about riding a quad.

Then came home to do more work on the yard!

On the fifth day of summer...

My true love, kids and me (I),
went to Kelowna for hockey, swimming
and a trip to the beach.

Then I had to dig up all my perennials
to facilitate a yard levelling with the
neighbours new house build.

This pic is from when I first planted this garden and they were all babies...they are much more established and blooming now - I hope I haven't killed them by digging them up. :(  

More gardening tomorrow.

On the fourth day of summer...

My true love, kids and me (I),
Watched four MORE intense rain storms pass through.

(We have had THE coldest and wettest spring/summer 
EVER, and would like to trade some of our cold and 
wet for some of the hot and dry our eastern and southern
neighbours are experiencing!  Come on Mother Nature, 
let's aim for a little balance here, OK?)

On the third day of summer...

My true love, kids and me (I),
Did three months worth of overdue housework!

On the second day of summer...

My true love, kids and me (I),

Went to TWO Canada day celebrations!

And, enjoyed a stay-cation camp out in the back yard!!
